Iron ore price down 3.3%, Dow Jones closes down 0.2% and ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 55.96 points (-0.2%).
  • ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 33 points (-0.4%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$47,000

The Dow Jones fell 0.16% to finish the trading day down 56 points to close at 35,361 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.4% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 0.3%.

Asian markets are set to open lower with ASX futures down 33 points (-0.5%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is stronger against the major currencies and is buying 73.15 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,817 per ounce with copper at US$4.32 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$68.53 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$72.96 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price fell 3.3% overnight, trading at US$152.6 and one bitcoin is worth US$46,830 going into the Asian trading day.
