Has Australia’s economy turned the corner on COVID?

Australia’s economy gets its quarterly report card this week, with the September quarter GDP results set to be announced on Wednesday.
Economists are predicting a positive number for the quarter, but the year to date figure is still lower overall.
Two consecutive quarters of GDP growth would signal an end to the COVID-led recession.

It will be a busy week with the release of key economic indicators that give investors a clue about the shape of the Australian economy.Aside from the GDP number, we’ll also get some insight about building approvals and retail sales.Good numbers may bode well for the Australian sharemarket and the Aussie dollar.
