Dow Jones closes up 0.1%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney
- Dow Jones closes up 44.44 points (0.1%).
- ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 10 points (-0.14%).
- Bitcoin is trading at US$33,000.
The Dow Jones rose 0.1% to finish the trading day up 44 points to close at 34,933 points.
Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.5% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day flat, falling by less than 0.1%.
Asian markets are set to open lower with ASX futures down 10 points (-0.1%) ahead of the open in Sydney.
The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 74.87 US cents.
Gold is trading at US$1,829 per ounce while copper is fetching US$4.27 per pound.
WTI Crude oil is selling for US$72.92 per barrel while Brent oil is lower at US$74.56 per barrel.
The spot iron ore price remains above US$200 per ton trading at US$218.26, and one bitcoin is worth US$32,895 going into the Asian trading day.
