Dow Jones closed down 1.1%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 382.59 points (-1.1%).
  • ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 49 points (-0.68%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$45,000.

The Dow Jones fell 1.08% to finish the trading day down 383 points to close at 34,961 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were mixed as London’s FTSE fell -0.16% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day higher, up 0.28%.

Asian markets are set to open lower with ASX futures down 49 points (-0.7%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is stronger against the major currencies and is buying 72.41 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,789 per ounce with copper down 0% to US$4.114 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$64.49 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$67.53 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price remains above US$200 per ton trading at US$153.05 and one bitcoin is worth US$44,805 going into the Asian trading day.
