Dow Jones closes down 0.8%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney

Dow Jones closes down 259.86 points (-0.8%).

ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 48 points (-0.66%).

Bitcoin is trading at US$33,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.75% to finish the trading day down 260 points to close at 34,422 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 1.7% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 1.7%.

Asian markets are set to open lower with ASX futures down 48 points (-0.7%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 74.32 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,804 per ounce with copper up 0% to US$4.274 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$73.24 per barrel while Brent oil is lower at US$74.36 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price remains above US$200 per ton trading at US$218.11 and one bitcoin is worth US$32,582 going into the Asian trading day.
