Dow Jones closes down 0.6%, ASX futures lower ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 208.98 points (-0.6%).
  • ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 11 points (-0.15%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$34,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.6% to finish the trading day down 209 points to close at 34,577 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.9% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 1.0%.

Asian markets are set to open lower with ASX futures down 11 points (-0.2%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 74.94 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,797 per ounce with copper up 0% to US$4.251 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$73.80 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$74.97 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price remains above US$200 per ton trading at US$212.46 and one bitcoin is worth US$33,977 going into the Asian trading day.
