Dow Jones closed down 0.2%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 66.6 points (-0.2%).
  • ASX futures trading higher ahead of the market open in Sydney, up 34 points (0.47%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$47,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.19% to finish the trading day down 67 points to close at 34,894 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 1.5% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 1.3%.

Asian markets are set to open higher with ASX futures up 34 points (0.5%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is stronger against the major currencies and is buying 71.5 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,782 per ounce with copper down 0% to US$4.046 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$63.69 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$66.53 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$153.05 per ton and one bitcoin is worth US$46,568 going into the Asian trading day.
