Dow Jones closes down 0.2%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 74.7 points (-0.2%).
  • ASX futures trading higher ahead of market open in Sydney, up 13 points (0.2%).

The Dow Jones fell 0.21% to finish the trading day down 75 points to close at 35,369 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe had strong sessions as London’s FTSE and Germany’s DAX finished the trading day higher.

Asian markets are set to open higher with ASX futures up 13 points (0.18%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 74.38 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,826 per ounce with copper at US$4.33 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$68.90 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$72.10 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price has gained 3.80%, trading at US$145.05 per ton and one bitcoin is worth US$52,033 going into the Asian trading day.
