Dow Jones closes down 0.2%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closed down 55.96 points (-0.2%).
  • ASX futures trading higher ahead of market open in Sydney, up 17 points (0.24%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$48,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.16% to finish the trading day down 56 points to close at 35,400 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe had strong sessions as London’s FTSE and Germany’s DAX finished the trading day higher.

Asian markets are set to open higher with ASX futures up 17 points (0.2%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is stronger against the major currencies and is buying 72.96 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,813 per ounce with copper at US$4.32 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$69.09 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$73.47 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price remains steady trading at US$157.75 per ton and one bitcoin is worth US$47,756 going into the Asian trading day.
