Dow Jones closes down 0.2%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 75 points (-0.2%).
  • ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 23 points (-0.3%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$52,000.

Sep. 6 – The Dow Jones closed 0.21% down after the index fell 75 points to close at 35,369 points.

Markets in Europe were also weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.36% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 0.37%.

Asian markets are set to open lower with ASX futures down 23 points (-0.32%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is stronger against the major currencies and is buying 74.53 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,830 per ounce with copper at US$4.34 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$69.14 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$72.46 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$139.7 per ton after its collapse last week, while one bitcoin is worth US$51,582 going into the Asian trading day.
