Dow Jones closed up 1.7%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney
- Dow Jones closes up 564.69 points (1.7%).
- ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 16 points (-0.2%).
- Bitcoin is trading at US$38,000.
The Dow Jones rose 1.7% to finish the trading day up 565 points to close at 34,725 points.
Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 1.2% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 1.32%.
Asian markets are set to open lower, with ASX futures down 16 points (-0.2%) ahead of the open in Sydney.
The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 69.93 US cents.
Gold is trading at US$115 per ounce with copper up 0.01% to US$146.67 per pound.
WTI Crude oil is selling for US$170.33 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$844.32 per barrel.
The spot iron ore price is trading at US$163.03 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$37,756 going into the Asian trading day.
