Dow Jones closed up 0.7%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes up 236.82 points (0.7%).
  • ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 35 points (-0.48%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$49,000.

The Dow Jones rose 0.7% to finish the trading day up 237 points to close at 34,814 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.3% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 0.7%.

Asian markets are set to open lower with ASX futures down 35 points (-0.5%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 73.37 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$ Iron Ore per ounce with copper up 0.13% to US$4.23 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$69.28 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$72.66 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price remains above US$200 per ton trading at US$123 and one bitcoin is worth US$48,010 going into the Asian trading day.
