Dow Jones closed up 0.3%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes up 92.07 points (0.3%).
  • ASX futures trading higher ahead of market open in Sydney, up 85 points (1.2%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$39,000.

The Dow Jones rose 0.3% to finish the trading day up 92 points to close at 33,224 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 3.9% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 3.96%.

Asian markets are set to open higher, with ASX futures up 85 points (1.2%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 71.62 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$108 per ounce with copper down 3.74% to US$143.13 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$161.55 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$793.52 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$142.59 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$38,413 going into the Asian trading day.
