Dow Jones closed up 0.3%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes up 99.13 points (0.3%).
  • ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 92 points (-1.3%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$37,000.

The Dow Jones rose 0.3% to finish the trading day up 99 points to close at 34,365 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 2.6% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 3.80%.

Asian markets are set to open lower, with ASX futures down 92 points (-1.3%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 71.43 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,843 per ounce with copper down 2.46% to US$4.413 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$84.07 per barrel while Brent oil is lower at US$87.11 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$130 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$36,373 going into the Asian trading day.
