Dow Jones closed up 0.3%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes up 102.32 points (0.3%).
  • ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 35 points (-0.48%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$56,000.

The Dow Jones rose 0.3% to finish the trading day up 102 points to close at 34,417 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 1.2% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 1.5%.

Asian markets are set to open lower, with ASX futures down 35 points (-0.5%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 72.74 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,763 per ounce with copper down 0% to US$4.182 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$76.91 per barrel while Brent oil is lower at US$80.75 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$110 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$55,201 going into the Asian trading day.
