Dow Jones closed up 0.1%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

The Dow Jones rose 0.1% to finish the trading day up 35 points to close at 35,755 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.0% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 0.8%.

Asian markets are set to open higher, with ASX futures up 23 points (0.3%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 71.71 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,782 per ounce with copper up 0.01% to US$4.391 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$72.65 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$76.02 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$106 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$50,696 going into the Asian trading day.
