Dow Jones closed down 1.8%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney
- Dow Jones closes down 614.41 points (-1.8%).
- ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 35 points (-0.48%).
- Bitcoin is trading at US$43,000.
The Dow Jones fell 1.78% to finish the trading day down 614 points to close at 33,970 points.
Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.9% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 2.3%.
Asian markets are set to open lower with ASX futures down 35 points (-0.5%) ahead of the open in Sydney.
The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 72.56 US cents.
WTI Crude oil is selling for US$1.37 per barrel while Brent oil is unchanged at US$1.14 per barrel.
The spot iron ore price remains above US$200 per ton trading at US$104.5 and one bitcoin is worth US$42,662 going into the Asian trading day.
