Dow Jones closed down 1.5%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 526.47 points (-1.5%).
  • ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 55 points (-0.8%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$44,000.

The Dow Jones fell 1.47% to finish the trading day down 526 points to close at 35,242 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe had strong sessions as London’s FTSE and Germany’s DAX finished the trading day higher.

Asian markets are set to open lower, with ASX futures down 55 points (-0.8%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 71.65 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$127 per ounce with copper down 0.83% to US$155.3 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$172.84 per barrel while Brent oil is lower at US$905.28 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$160.36 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$43,747 going into the Asian trading day.
