Dow Jones closed down 0.9%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 320.04 points (-0.9%).
  • ASX futures trading higher ahead of market open in Sydney, up 23 points (0.32%).

The Dow Jones fell 0.89% to finish the trading day down 320 points to close at 35,651 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.8% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 0.0%.

Asian markets are set to open higher, with ASX futures up 23 points (0.3%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 71.35 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,787 per ounce with copper down 0% to US$4.28 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$71.14 per barrel while Brent oil is lower at US$74.29 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$102.5 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$46,817 going into the Asian trading day.
