Dow Jones closed down 0.7%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 266.19 points (-0.7%).
  • ASX futures trading higher ahead of market open in Sydney, up 23 points (0.32%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$59,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.74% to finish the trading day down 266 points to close at 35,491 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.3% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 0.3%.

Asian markets are set to open higher, with ASX futures up 23 points (0.3%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 75.21 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,797 per ounce with copper down 0.02% to US$4.386 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$82.32 per barrel while Brent oil is lower at US$84.18 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$116 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$58,794 going into the Asian trading day.
