Dow Jones closed down 0.7%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 240.04 points (-0.7%).
  • ASX futures trading higher ahead of market open in Sydney, up 23 points (0.32%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$66,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.66% to finish the trading day down 240 points to close at 36,080 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe had strong sessions as London’s FTSE and Germany’s DAX finished the trading day higher.

Asian markets are set to open higher, with ASX futures up 23 points (0.3%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 73.26 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,849 per ounce with copper down 0.01% to US$4.328 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$81.23 per barrel while Brent oil is lower at US$82.52 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$87.5 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$65,237 going into the Asian trading day.
