Dow Jones closed down 0.6%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 201.81 points (-0.6%).
  • ASX futures trading higher ahead of market open in Sydney, up 28 points (0.4%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$44,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.56% to finish the trading day down 202 points to close at 35,912 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.3% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 0.93%.

Asian markets are set to open higher, with ASX futures up 28 points (0.4%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 72.2 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,817 per ounce with copper down 2.76% to US$4.421 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$83.82 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$86.06 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$127 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$43,184 going into the Asian trading day.
