Dow Jones closed down 0.3%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 112.24 points (-0.3%).
  • ASX futures trading higher ahead of market open in Sydney, up 23 points (0.32%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$68,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.31% to finish the trading day down 112 points to close at 36,320 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.4% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 0.0%.

Asian markets are set to open higher, with ASX futures up 23 points (0.3%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 73.8 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,825 per ounce with copper up 0.01% to US$4.405 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$82.22 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$83.67 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$89 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$67,463 going into the Asian trading day.
