Dow Jones closed down 0.2%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 60.1 points (-0.2%).
  • ASX futures trading higher ahead of market open in Sydney, up 23 points (0.32%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$58,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.17% to finish the trading day down 60 points to close at 35,871 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London’s FTSE fell 0.5% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day lower, down 0.2%.

Asian markets are set to open higher, with ASX futures up 23 points (0.3%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 72.76 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,859 per ounce with copper up 0.01% to US$4.31 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$78.84 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$81.07 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$85 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$57,282 going into the Asian trading day.
