ASX Futures pointing lower after Dow Jones closed down 2.8%

  • ASX Futures trading lower ahead of the market open in Sydney.
  • Dow Jones closed down 939.18 points.
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$39,000.

The ASX Futures is trading down 82 points, or 1.1 lower ahead of the market open in Sydney.

It follows the Dow Jones, which fell 2.8% to finish the trading day down 939 points to close at 32,977 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe had a strong session as London’s FTSE and Germany’s DAX finished the trading day higher.

The Australian dollar is buying 70.68 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,896 per ounce.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$104.69 per barrel, while Brent oil is trading at US$109.34 per barrel.

The spot price for iron ore is US$142 per metric tonne and one bitcoin is worth US$38,257 going into the Asian trading day.
