Dow Jones closed down 0.8%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 292.06 points (-0.8%).
  • ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 35 points (-0.48%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$47,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.84% to finish the trading day down 292 points to close at 34,578 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were mixed as London’s FTSE fell -0.49% while Germany’s DAX finished the trading day higher, up 0.14%.

Asian markets are set to open lower with ASX futures down 35 points (-0.5%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is stronger against the major currencies and is buying 73.18 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$ Iron Ore per ounce with copper up 0.13% to US$4.23 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$69.28 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$72.66 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price remains above US$200 per ton trading at US$125 and one bitcoin is worth US$46,979 going into the Asian trading day.
